Cows are designed to eat grass, so that’s what our herds eat – green grass, and lots of it. They spend four seasons outdoors, as nature intended, grazing fertile pastures in the fresh air. Like us, our farmers believe that free-range cows are happier and healthier when they are fed the diet they are built for.

Free-range and grass-fed cows graze the pastures of the West Coast and Canterbury year-round. Healthy cows and quality grass help produce excellent milk; elements which pair perfectly to help us to create Westgold’s unique rich flavour and award-winning products.
